The Laurenco Waterproofing System began as a premier, cold-applied, bituminous waterproofing system that delivers a monolithic polymer-enhanced barrier. It has a proven 68+ year track record, making it the single longest lasting continuously marketed waterproofing system on the market.

The system was developed in 1955 by Dorothy and Jack Lawrence to find a safer way to waterproof without the use of hot kettles. With their chemistry and physics backgrounds, they were able to create a cold-applied waterproofing membrane that not only lived up to the waterproofing expectations of cold tar pitch, but flat-out exceeded them.

With its flexibility and versatile nature, it can be used on a wide variety of projects including, but not limited to:

  • Green Roofs
  • Building Foundations
  • Plaza Decks
  • Tunnels
  • Dams/power plants/etc.

Because it is cold applied, there are no temperature limitations/restrictions and no dangerous working conditions for crews, unlike with hot applied products. This system is climatized to work in the coldest and hottest regions of the world. There is little odor and no need to invest in heavy and expensive equipment. All you need is a roll, a pail, a utility knife and a flat-edge squeegee. In addition to the ease of application, the Laurenco Waterproofing System meets all VOC regulations and can be sold in all 50 states.

In 2013, FBC purchased the intellectual rights to manufacture and market the Laurenco Waterproofing System. FBC Chemical is 100% employee owned and operated corporation, started by Lad Hudac in 1967. Since it’s founding, FBC has diversified into asphalt manufacturing in addition to chemical distribution, and currently we employ over 70 workers.

In 2020, we’ve expanded our Laurenco Waterproofing systems to include a Laurenco PMMA system and a Laurenco Deck System.
